Oil painting – requiring cleaning and repair of tears

Alpine scene, oil on canvas signed B. Peters. The painting had tears in the canvas, excessive surface dirt and several layers of discoloured varnish when it was brought to the studio. It was re-lined on our vacuum-lining table, old varnish removed, areas of canvas and pigment damage consolidated and filled before retouching and new varnish applied. Restored for a client in Lockerbie.
